August 14th 2009  Riz joins in for our 1-year anniversary.

Riz Rollins is a friend to many deejays, socialites, lovers and simpletons in our fair city of Seattle. The host of several KEXP music programs (including the legendary Expansions) and the king of several monthlies, he tends to be a man who needs little introduction. If you are however unfamiliar, come out to groove with mlat and have him introduce himself -- Struggle and D’jeronimo will be playing with him as we celebrate the one year anniversary of Made Like a Tree!

July 24th 2009  Alternegro + Polaris.

DJ Polaris

DJ Polaris (Avram “Andy” Ayim) is a visionary in the global House movement. His sound and dj sets are known to take people literally to the Heavens. The founder and resident of “Solera…House from the Heavens,” Polaris approaches House music with a goal to reach and touch souls. Always staying to the roots of House music, Polaris takes soul, gospel and R & B and gives a Nordic twist to it. This niche he has created has made him stand out in the House undergrounds of Atlanta, Portland and his soon to be home of Seattle, Washington.

Avram hails from Macon, GA. The offspring of two engineers, he was exposed to many cultural settings in the Central Georgia and the world. An avid music lover, Polaris came to love New Age, Fusion and Traditional Jazz, and alternative music. He discovered house music listening to USA Network’s Dance party; hearing songs from Frankieknuckles and Lil Louis Vega. This curiosity led him to Atlanta’s WRAS’s music show the 12-Inch show. He began to acquire this music for his journey to Solera. In the US Air Force he met Dj Eldon while visiting Albuquerque, New Mexico. Dj Eldon took him under his wing, seeing the desire. Polaris was also blessed to be mentored by Dj Essay (Steven Portillio). After being instructed, Polaris kept a low profile for many years. In Pittsburgh, Pa; where he was completing college at Robert Morris University, Polaris made his debut on WYEP’s Dubmission with his set “Dance of the Angels”. From there, Solera was made known and the scene has taken notice. Look for many wonderful things from Avram Ayim. Dj Polaris is the North Star that is taking House music to the Heavens.

Alternegro

A dedicated disc-jockey and staunch supporter of all music that comes from the heart and soul, dj/producer Alternegro believes music is the medium by which anything is possible. "My collection of music represents how I am feeling," says the Seattle-based dj. His collection of music is one of struggle, hope, and love, and he tries to communicate this with every set, and production he undertakes. "If folks can just let go and connect with themselves, and reject the notion of a "scene" associated with dance music, then soulful and deep, heartfelt music would flourish in a world wrought by the mainstream. DJ Alternegro believes it is his duty to stand up for the underground. If you get to experience one of his sets from beginning to end, the music will make a groover, and believer out of you as well.

July 10th 2009  Malcom Moore vs. 2DeepSoul.

Malcolm Moore

Born in November of 1971, Roxnadz (real name Malcolm Moore) became entangled with music at a very early age. He started off as an avid house music listener in 1987, and quickly found and became affiliated with others who were addicted to the deep house sound throughout the late 80s and 90s. Eventually, he moved on to become a full-fledged DJ in 2001, catering to varying strains of the deeper side of house music. He used the influence to connect with fellow deep house addicts around the world, earning him trips to places like Seattle, New York, and Berlin to spin his own special style of deepness.

These days, he currently has a monthly residency on the Estimulo Show Internet radio broadcast that runs every Saturday night. When he isn't DJing, he is focusing his efforts on his fledgling deep house record label, AMR. Read this exclusive interview with Malcolm conducted by M>L>A>T's very own Energy Flash.

2DeepSoul

2DeepSoul are producers/deejays Trackmachine & Serendipity (a.k.a. Brad Peterson & Rai Scott). Their combined love of the true deep house & deep techno sound can be heard and felt in their productions and DJ sets. 2DeepSoul is about the music and wants you to feel the spirit of this music from deep within.

Malcolm Moore and 2DeepSoul are going to execute a three-team weave for much of the night (with Moore eventually singling himself out and climaxing). These especially talented guests will be joining the elusive M>L>A>T deejays, Struggle + D'jeronimo.

June 12th 2009  2DeepSoul lights a fire.

Local friends Brad (Trackmachine) & Rai (Serendipity), collectively "2DeepSoul," threw down a marvelous collection of favorites tonight (many of them their own productions). New faces joined old friends as everyone gathered around a home-cooked brew of real loft-space house; Maestro documentary fabulously glowing against a backdrop. While its uncertain whether or not the SEAC Loft has ever reached that capacity, it's surely never felt that warm and vibrant.
